Wrote only in Welsh? Spoke Welsh as their first language? What about someone like Dr Kate Roberts, famous for numerous books including 'Tea in the Heather'(that's the English translation of the title)? She lived in Denbigh and, apart from her writing, she was famous as an educationalist. She was your Grandmother's Welsh correspondence course tutor and was brave enough, not only to correct your Grandmother's Welsh, but also to point out a few weaknesses in her English.
